Stay tuned for the “LAB”~Coming up next!~
When I was in school I had this math teacher that was teaching us, well…………math. Every so often the whole class would get frazzled and not understand what the fah-knob he was talking about. Panic set in, oh no. Gotta keep my grades up, what’s he saying? What page are we on? Who am I? !!!!!!!
“TAP! TAP! TAP!”
He starts banging on the chalk board and we all are “dear in the head lights” looking at him. Startled and confused, like a bunch of idiots. (Which we were.)
“Ok class, calm down. It’s not that difficult!” He starts shouting a bit. Let’s go over it again. (and then 20 more times if needed, right?) I started mocking him in my head.
Little did I know he was about to ask one of the most “dumbesteded” questions that had NOTHING to do with math! Seriously, how did he get this job again!
“How do you eat an Elephant?” In the middle of math class he wants to talk about food? We all murmur a bit and giggle.
He asks again, “How do you eat an elephant!?” That was the assignment for the night. He wanted us to bring in a 3 paged essay describing how we would do that. Ok, easy. I’ll get an “A”.
Class was dismissed early. Great now, he’s trying to teach “fillosofy”…..(as if I was super smart and edmujacated) Next day, we turn in our comical papers about how we would eat that huge beast. I can’t remember exactly what “I” said in my paper. It was probably something along the lines of cooking and seasoning. He showed up in an apron with a chefs hate. Some carving utensils and plates. A culinary show now?
Out of nowhere he pulls out a shredding machine!
………Aaaannnd what do you think he starts doing?
Yep, he starts shredding our papers in front of us. One by one, piece by piece. Little by little. Wait! STOP! What’s gonna happen to my “A”!?
He might have been the math teacher but, he educated us in some quick philosophy in patience and endurance. Frustration even. (I worked hard on that Elephant recipe!)
He asked again, “How do you eat an Elephant?” The answer was simple. Little by little, bit by bit, slowly……….with time you will consume that beast. With time you will understand these math equations. They might be frustrating and confusing but, it’s all just simple math. Take them slowly and work at them a bit at a time. Enlist others to join in the feast with you and everyone eats.
Networking, configurations, and engineering can be very tedious work. If you don’t have a full enough understanding of what it is you are doing or what needs to be done, or at least just some basic ideas, you’re not going to be able to eat that elephant with out some help.
It’s easy to get angry, frustrated with ideas and topics. But, once you start breaking the beast down, in time you will consume all of it.

Sneakpeek …………..Ok so that’s a mini-sneak peek! MUWaajajajAAJAAAA
Do you have a dream deep in your heart that you want to pursue? If you do, have you taken the first step necessary to achieve it? Taking the first step is perhaps the most difficult thing to do in achieving a dream. There are a lot of mental obstacles that make it difficult to take that first step.
Since so many people were in the same boat, I appreciated the reminder that eating an elephant can only be done one way: one bite at a time. Trying to gulp it down in one sitting is asking for severe indigestion
